Dear concerned citizens,
Today our
concern about the fate of wolves has spilled over into the political arena
for obvious reasons.
As a
conservative let me state how I feel about wolves and hunting. Alaska
authorizes subsistence hunting in rural areas in lieu of traveling hundreds
of miles by aircraft or snowmobile (or dogs) to buy meat.
I have no
objection to a resident hunting for food. I do object to hunting by
aircraft, hunting by snowmobile for sport, preventing Indians from hunting so
non-residents can hunt on their land, and other unsportsmanlike actions.
I thank you for
bringing to the public's attention any elected official who approves of such
behavior.
